Minneapolis Moline Tractor Parts

The largest of merged companies that eventually became the AGCO Company of today was Minneapolis Moline. They were also a leader in the anti-labor union, open-shop movement, and kept the city of Minneapolis largely union free for over 20 years. From there on out, they were doomed until they were be acquired by another company, White Motor Company, in 1963.

As the innovators of the first closed cab tractor, Minneapolis Moline was part of the reason why many tractors look and function the way they do. They were the first company to include automotive parts into their tractor’s features that includes an electric starter and a dashboard with a speedometer. They also brought novelties such as the first ever heater, cigarette lighter, windshield wipers, and radio that were quickly integrated into their tractors.

Minneapolis Moline has given numerous new ideas to the industry and had combined the worlds of cars and tractors together like no one else could. The 1938 model U deluxe was part of this new wave of vehicles, but was never mass-manufactured. Until 1974 when the name was dropped, and because of the reputation that the name Minneapolis Moline maintained, two diesel imports that were made by Fiat were sold by White under the Minneapolis-Moline name.

Eventually the AGCO Company purchased White and all their agricultural affiliates in 1991. Today the name of Minneapolis Moline is mainly attached to vintage and antique tractor of which many are currently sitting in museums, like the Saskatoon museum, all around the world. Even though it is rare to come across a true Minneapolis-Moline tractor, it is still just as amazing as any tractor that is on production lines today.
